Long ago and far away, when I was a kid, the lettuce used in all sandwiches that came with lettuce was iceberg. Good, plain, crunchy iceberg. When California cuisine became the stylish way to eat, iceberg got a bad rap. Now, in almost every eatery, the same sandwiches that used to be made with iceberg are made with redleaf. Redleaf has its place, perhaps as a variant in a mixed green salad. On the traditional American sandwich, it is just plain wrong. Why? No crunch. I like iceberg. I like crunch. I like chewing on that crunch. CRUNCHTHIS is about anything and everything that is adding crunch to my life -- all the stuff that my mind is currently chewing on. Welcome. And bon appetit.
